Discussion:

I (Selvamani) shared some information about GSoC and its TimeLine.

What is GSoC:

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source software projects.

I explained the GSoC Timeline.  GSoC program is already announced the Timeline on 24th January.

February 28 to March 11 is timeline for the Organizations to submit their application.

After finalising the projects by Google,  the list of accepted Projects will be announced on March 18.

Now, It is time for the Students to choose their projects that you are willing to develop. The mentors who will guide the students for the project while developing it will be listed along with the projects. Students should convince and satisfy the mentor that you have enough capability and knowledge to develop that particular project. Selecting Projects & Catching mentors timeline ends on March 27th. Here, Student can select more than one projects, But you will be assigned to only one project.

From March 28th – April 8, Students application will be collected. List of  students accepted by Mentors will be announced on April 25th. In the next one week, coding starts.

Project review will be conducted in the middle time. Mid-term evaluation will be on July 15th.

Then, the final evaluation and result will be happening at the end of August.
